Asc Going To Sell Killington To Vail Resorts?

SkiBachelor's Photo SkiBachelor 23 Dec 2003

One of Snowjournal's members heard a rumor from a local source that there has been a few people from Vail resorts in the past few days looking at buying Killington. It would make sense though for ASC to sell Killington since it is worth over $100 million, and this might help ASC turn around because they continue to loose money even after they have restructured the company. However, Vail resorts lost over $30 million this year, but this could help Vail with 2nd quarter results if enough New Englanders bought stock in Vail because to help purchase Killington because they are sick of ASC running Killington so poorly.

I wonder if ASC sold Killington, they might sell Pico since these two resorts are kind of connected with each other.

I would not be surprised if ACS sold Killington.

I don't think ASC wants to sell Steamboat, because it's really one of the only resorts keeping them alive. They have already sold off their resorts that wern't making a lot of money like Heavenly and a few Eastern resorts. I can see ASC hanging onto The Canyons, Steamboat as long as their still alive.

Strange they didnt make money on heavenly, it gets packed. Vail has only done one new lift, so asc did a decent job there

They made money, but not a lot of money like their other resorts. It's better to sell a resort for $110 million when it was making I think under 5 million a year.
