Good Luck, i just checked the wait is about 1.5 hours...but they are supposed to get more snow tonight, so that might be worth going. If you go could you please get some more pictures of the Blue Tram, and the Blue Tram Motor Room? I was in a hurry so I couldn't get too many pics of the Blue Tram. Thanks!

The motor room is right at the turnstle where you load onto the tram, you can't go in it, but there is a huge glass window.

Was just looking this topic over. From what I know the Blue Trams max capacity is 51 people even though they may only run it with 45.

In the cabin there is a plaque that says something like "Max. Cap. 44 + 1 persons or __ kgs"

Well well well, the Blue Skyride is once again operating, they say the Red Skyride is under seasonal maintenaince again. Any truth to this?

I would imagine it's true, there is probably a number of PMs they have to do every six months or so when the lift operates all year.

I think Grouse may install a new access lift in the next couple years if weather continues as it is. This season it seems like 1/3 days grouse has a delayed opening or closure because of the wind. A funitel or funifor would be awesome but I doubt it.

Yeah it really costs them too when they have to close. For example. the mountain had to close for two days last week back to back right in the middle of "zone camp" ski lessons. Everyone ended up getting two vouchers for two more days of lessons. I also heard some horror stories of employees who were off work at 10pm and couldn't get down the mountain until 6am the next morning because the tram was on wind stanby.

Yep, I got a free lift ticket off a friend who was up there (doesnt ski) and there was a big windstorm. Grouse gives tickets away pretty easily though, we got 2 when they double parked us a long time ago! It was worth being double parked.

The old Village chair, from the top of Skyline rd to the bottom of the Cut was a great lift. It was low and out of the wind, when it derailed in the summer, you could pick berries on the ride. This would be a natural line for an access lift. Jigbacks are highly overrated (my opinion). When I had a youth pass, we had to ride the Village instead of the Tram (old tram) on weekends and holidays. I think I must be getting old.

That would work pretty well! It would be cool too and maybe grouse would build a second base. They might have some problems with residents now though. And I know Screaming Eagle can download because they do it all the time in the summer. I agree with you about jig backs, I think they cause bursts of traffic and have longer lines because they are less consistent.
