I was at cooper on friday and got some pictures and enjoyed the fresh snow and short lines even though the area is fairly small.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Great pictures! I had to look twice, but someone needs to tell Ski Cooper that their springboxes on the platter are on the hanger arms the wrong way... They need to be turned 180 degrees so the tow cord comes out the back side... Unless that model of box is supposed to be like that!

Am I right in seeing that "Piney Triple" doesn't have a restraint bar?

It does not but the 10th mountain Hall/Grav-CTEC Double does have a footrest.

:: shrug :: I dunno. I've never riden a lift without a restraint bar, wouldn't take much for someone to slip out, no?

Most older (and some newer) FG lifts in the States don't have restraining bars.

No, and it wouldn't take much for someone to slip out if there was a bar either. They're not restraining bars, they are comfort bars or footrests.

My mistake! I guess I'd always assumed (based on the stringent requirements of the places I've been to lower the bar) that it was a safety issue.

I almost never use the restraining bar, but I will use it if it has footrests. :D

Not really, no; I think it's more of a public relations/mental comfort issue. Bars can help you stay in the chair, sure, but they create more hassles than they save people from falling out. I've got a few articles about this subject I need to scan and upload so that I can quit being :offtopic:

Colorado code only requires bars on lifts operated for summer foot passengers. The double was modified several years ago to accomodate a summer conference

The Arrow lift actually DOES have "safety" bars during the summer when it operates for the alpine slide but they are removed for when it operates for the winter ski season.
