BANFF FILM FESTIVAL (or any mountain film fest type thing will probably have it)
This year has two films if you've spent the time looking at this discussion you definately should check them out.
#1 Solilochairliftquist
T.M. Faversham
The time involved riding chair lifts, while skiing a hundred days a year, can lead to many profound realizations. This short explores the complexities of life as a ski bum from the fresh perspective of actual lift-riding time. (USA, 2005, 4 min.)

F@*king funny
Just his revelation on the riblet grip alone is worth the 4 min.

#2 The Lost People of Mountain Village This short film has nothing to do with lifts but more the realestate boom which takes over a popular resort. Its funny because its real. 26 bathrooms....What the f*@k over.

If you manage to see either of these I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The movie Roxanne with Steve Martin has an old dbl in it, filmed in Neslon BC, its either at Red or Whitewater. Looks like a Carlevaro-Savio

Whitewater, to my knowledge, never had a lift with lattice towers. Red's chairs at the time (mid to late 80s) were 2 Muellers and 1 Thiokol.

Though most of the Roxanne was shot in Nelson (a location walking tour brochure is available at the tourist office, BTW), the production used the greater Vancouver area for a few settings (the hilarious bar scene was shot on a soundstage and Roxanne's house was actually somewhere in North Van). I'd have to see the movie again just to make sure, but I'd wager that the lift in question was either the Peak or Blueberry chair at Grouse - both of which had tower structures very similar to Carlevaro-Savio.

Check out a move called Fire on the Mountain. It's all about the 10th mountain and what they did after ww2. Good movie, hard to find.
What now?
