I have had the pleasure of snowboarding with my friend Elisa when I met her a year and a half ago on snowboard.com. In the few times we have gone riding she's shown me how to push myself and try things I didn't think I could ever do. So when she rang me up and asked if I'd like to go spend a weekend at Blue Mountain at her friend's cottage, I couldn't resist! We found out another boarder friend of ours from that site was going to be there too (Rob), with one of his friends, and Elisa's friend had 2 of her friends coming too. The weather was great and it was time for some new friends, spring boarding, and high speed lifts at Blue Mountain!

This is my favourite lift. The lift line has lots of elevation changes and goes over top of this little valley.

Looking back down the lift line.

Here is the upper terminal of that lift!

The upper terminal of this lift has the gondola cabins.

Here are some of the cabins. I didn't spend long enough looking at them to see if they had any kind of door mechanism.

I think this was the base of the lift with the gondola cabins.

Megan and Elisa insist I go down Willy's. Double black diamond! That was definitely the steepest run I have gone down. And we did it twice. :)

Mid-afternoon it seemed to get less busy.

They did an event where you could enter a contest to ski or snowboard across some water! The grand prize was a trip to a caribbean resort.

Elisa poses nicely with a Blue Mountain mascot.

Then it was time to meet up with Rob and Mike. Here are Mike and Elisa.

Megan apprecieates the luxuriousness of the 6-place chair.

Posted Image
Haha :)

Posted Image
As you can see it was a very nice day!

Posted Image
6-place chairs make nice group shots possible.

...or goofy silly ones. :)

It wasn't until I saw this lift that I decided Poma has no sense of design taste or style at all. I really dislike Poma now!

Here's another shot of the "Chondola" lift.

What a perfect warm day.

Anyway, that's all for now. Blue is still open for a few more weeks and so is Tremblant! So I might decide to go and do that depending on how the weather goes. But if it will not top this weekend then that's okay, it was a great way to close out the season. :)

Hope you enjoyed the photos!
