This is an idea I've had for quite some time. I've been making music videos for amusement rides for a while (ie, Psyclone, Sledgehammer), and I'd like to do some themed around snowboarding. Based on the concept of a SteadiCam, I'd like to mount my Elura2 to my board. The idea behind it, is that the SteadiCam's two parallelogram linkages ("bones") are spring tensioned to make the camera neutrally buoyant in space. That is, the operator's movements aren't directly transferred to the camera, resulting in a very smooth, steady shot!
To even see if my idea to build a snowboard-mounted single-link SteadiCam equivalent is worth pursuing, I rigged up a simple mount to do some basic testing with my digital camera. I think the results are pretty good so far! I'm optimistic I can come up with something either binding-mounted, or I may try and do something leg-mounted (with a shin-pad or some other kind of sport leg-mounted pad).

I really hope this won't become one of my "never gets completed" projects, but with the end of the winter season so quickly approaching, I guess I can look at it as having all summer to finish it. :)
