I see that Red Resort is closing on Sunday, and I am sure Apex isn't far behind with the recent rain.

As Quoted From KOMO-TV 4:

Quote

Operators at Steven Pass shut down Wednesday night, saying they gave it their best run, but the warm temperatures beat them.

Snoqualmie, Crystal, White Pass have all have given up this year as well.

Are they done for the season, this says yes, their websites say no. But looking at the web cams, its like its June.

April 19th, unless we get Northwest-style rain. Not to rub it in or anything.

Baker is 'suspending operations' beginning tomorrow, and will remain closed until they get 15"-24" of new snow. They close their announcement with 'golf is for quitters'

So, how were the numbers at Red for this season, Allan? Is the shorter season going to effect the timeline for any expansion plans or new lifts out there? I know the warm weather knocked the crap out of Turner Mountain in NW Montana. I think they were open for a week in total. They're going to be paying for that new daylodge forever!

I don't know the final numbers, but they'll be way lower. It won't affect the expansion plans or other CapEx projects.

Breath of new life by thursday? Here is the Washington forecast:

Quote

A SNOW ADVISORY is in effect for the Cascades Wednesday. Snow levels will be dropping to 2,000 feet by Wednesday night. Up to 12 inches of snow is possible in the mountains through Thursday morning.

Possibly 12" will be a start of something long needed... SNOW!

Well with the bases around 150-200 inches around tahoe the resorts could be open, at least partly untill July 4th with normal temperatures. With close to 10 feet last week (the 3rd 100+ inch system of the year) and another 2 or 3 tommarow-tuesday the 700 inch bar should be broken up at kirkwood. This spring ought to be good up at Alpine and Squaw as well. We are just getting started.

We're still on for the 17th of April but there is an unsubstantiated rumour going around that we'll keep Eagle and Flyer open later. A-Basin just announced that they're going for broke- not just July 4th this year but as late as possible since the storm track looks great.

I would Love to see Abasin make something like August 17th again and that was without snowmaking, maybe this year they will be able to not close before next season.

At that area, it would be theoretically possible to run year-round. the only problem is that they'd have to close Exhibition for maintenance. In the upper bowl, they could alternate runing Norway and Lenawee while they worked on the other one.

They have said off and on for years that they want to but from what I have heard is that they have used up all of their water rights in the first parkt of the season so they cant make snow when they need it in the summer.
