My understanding is the "agamatic" is a derivative of the DT grip as the torsion bar spring is not allowed to be used in some jurisdictions in Europe. There is also a version with a "swivel dog" grip force switch similar to the old DS grips.

That's kind of interesting but Agamatic was an Italian lift manufacturer and Doppelmayr bought it out sometime around 2000.

 If the grip in the picture was designed before Doppelmayr took over, then Doppelmayr have their own very similar version of the DT

Hi,

Agamatic is 50% Doppelmayr from the beginning. And 50% Hölzl (A Italan Producer).

Doppelmayr creates Agamatic to sell deatchable Lifts in Italiy, because in the 80 the Grips of DM Austria was not allowed in Italy an the Tax for Import was high. So the Lifts were build in Italy bv Hölzl.

Agamatic means Automatic Grip.

And in 2000 Doppelmayr bought Hölzl, so Agamtic is now 100% Doppelmayr.

Thats what I herad about it here in Germany.

More about DCTEC. Why (with the exception of Beaver Creek) do most of the high speed lifts have the CTEC carriers? Can you choose to have the Doppelmayr carrier?

We've been through this many times. The customer has a choice. It seems like most fixed grips have CTEC chairs. A couple fgs last year had the Doppelmayr EJ chair, and a couple had Garaventa chairs. For detachables, most are Garaventa, but there were a few EJ chairs like at Beaver Creek.
