I saw that too. Pretty cool if it could be pulled off. Snowbasin would then become truely World Class, with access to a large urban center and it's surrounding areas.

Somebody emailed the article to me yesterday- interesting. Any word on progress, i.e. approval from city and private authorities, maybe even a lift profile from an engineer? Or is it all still in the theoretical stage?

Funiculars, people you have failed to talk about the crosslift. Just finished one in Teluride, that makes Bear Creek condo ski in ski out. Chek out Outdoor engineers www.outdoorengineers.com Oswald Graber (once doppelmayer) is heading this. Why would UTmorMan even think about a funicular for the aplication you speak of? As far as trams in the US go, Palm Springs has hands down the biggest, longest, highest and most expensive in the lower 48. Most people don't know about it but if you ever have a chance Ride it, and if your real luckey you may get a carriage ride on it and thats an e ticket all the way!!!

There are signs that say "Lift Ogden" everywhere there. I saw this Ford Explorer the other day pulling around a Sigma cabin. I saw it off an on between Ogden and Grand Junction, the home of Poma. I don't know why they would get a cabin from Poma instead of Doppelmayr which is so close.

CWA is haviing a big year so doppelmayr may not have any. Sigma is triing to get into the U.S. market so they are discounting ttheir cabons a lot, Snowmass got the cabins on the pulse lift for almost nothing.
