Since I can't seem to edit my posts right now (IE 4.0 does that to you, but I'm not downloading the new one with 28.8K dial-up)
Wasn't part of the hotel project to replace the Deer Crest lift with a high speed quad too?

Snowbird is attempting to get perrmission for the dirt work for thier new HSQ that would replace Peruvian. Also they are planning on building a day logde at the bottom of Gad Valley.

Alta is remoured to possibly remove the Albion lift but this seems unlikely and I've only heard it from one person while riding up a lift.

Solitude is once again tryingto get aproval and build the HSQ replacement of Moonbeam. They have seemed to have given up on the gondola parking lot connection.

Brighton is remoured to be looking into replacing Millicent as a highly anticipated move on thier delvelopement and renewal plan. They would also most likely remove Evergreen.

I haven't heard much about the Park City resorts and besides the roumoured Puorcipine replacement at Snowbasin I haven't heard anything about any other lifts.

The Spiro project at PCMR already has a lower lift terminal in place. It looks like the old First Time CTEC terminal. Don't know why, since all the towers were recycled for the First Time HSQ. Anyway, using the old terminal means it deffinately won't be a detachable. Also, if permits get done in time, the Cabriolet and HSQ replacing the Town chair will be installed this year.

As mentioned in some other posts, DV will be replacing Sultan with a HSQ and extending it 400'.

The Canyons looks again to be mired in such financial difficulty that they will be lucky to get new paint on their existing lifts. I wonder how long it will be before the are in receivership.

Yesterday Vail Resorts announced that they will be installing three high speed quads at Heavenly, Breckenridge and Beaver Creek. I know the Beaver Creek lift is to replace Larkspur, and I believe the Heavenly lift is to replace North Bowl/Olympic on the Nevada side with one lift, but any word on what Breck is doing? We all know that their Peak 8 Summit Lift proposal includes two high speed quads (one to replace chair 6, and a new lift to the Summit). Any speculation on if this new lift is one of those? Might make sense to do Chair 6 this summer and the Summit lift next summer? Quote from the release below:

"...Highlights of these expenditures include three new high-speed chairlifts at the Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Heavenly ski resorts..."

There was an article in the Aspen Times yesterday about the planned Deeper Temerity/Steeplechase Lift. Looks like it's happening for sure this summer and it's going to be a fixed-grip triple with a 1,700' vertical drop.

Hmm, I guess that the lift at Breck will be to the top of Peak 8 from the top of the 6 chair. But then again you never know, I would like to see a chair from the base of 6 to the top of peak 8 with a midstation, but I doubt that.

What manufacturer do you think will make the chairlifts at BC, Breck, and Heavenly, as well as the Deeper Teremity/Steeplechase?

The lifts at Heavenly and BC will be built by Doppelmayr most likely while Poma will build the ones at Highlands and Breck.

I can't picture anything but a Leitner-Poma lift going in @ a aspen ski area.

That would have been my guess, since that is the majority of lifts at those places. There is quite a bit of loyatly in all of these resorts, but I don't know Heavenly well.

Of course I love skilifts too, which is why I'm here. I'd like to learn more about them and maybe work in the Ski industry later on in life.

Let it snow.

I have heard from quite a few people that the lifts heavenly will be replacing are north bowl and olympic, which is a huge relief. Both of those chairs have been keeping me from exploring that side of the mountain more. Vail has definately been doing great things for our resort, and even better, $300 season passes!

It appears that Sun Valley has plans of replacing a few of the lifts at Dollar Mountain with HSQs in the next 10 years.

Quote

The three-phase development plan includes:

· Replacing the aging Quarter Dollar, Half Dollar, Dollar and Elkhorn chair lifts with modern, detachable-quad chair lifts.

· Installing permanent, computerized snowmaking equipment across the ski area.

· Building a new snowboarding half pipe and a new terrain park.

· Installing a gondola to carry passengers from Sun Valley Village to the River Run base area of Bald Mountain, with a midway station that would service Dollar Mountain.

Is Snowbasin replacing the Little Cat double with a high speed quad? It says so on the front page, but I thought that might be the Wildcat, which would make more sense

From the SE plans I posted a year ago, the Little Cat was the next lift to be upgraded to a HSQ at Snowbasin, UT.
