I'll start this one off with the cover of a brochure from Bachelor, with an excellent shot of the Summit. There's no date, but there's a fainter phot in the background that shows the old Blue and Green lifts. You can also see the Rainbow and the original Sunrise, but those don't date the pic as well as the Blue and Green. I couldn't get the brochure to scan sharp enough to see, but it's a neat picture. It would be poster quality if there weren't the usual brochure stuff printed over the top.

What is the house doing there?

I assume that's a lift shack or a make shitft lift "shack" but most handle tows i've seen have an operator to prevent pile ups if a skier falls. Though i have seen a liftie sleeping in one.

Lift Shack, Summit has a few of them around...

i find that odd.

I've seen little lift shacks at the bottom of handle tows like that.. but usually they're a wooden structure, not a converted port-o-let!

or i did not have any problems when i skied under it... i have a video of the same lift when it came to a stop this chair kept on swinging....

They'll do that, especially on old Riblets such as that one.

While working on the 1997 lift construction survey today, I guess Doppelmayr calls this terminal the UNI-M instead of the UNI like I thought.

Does anyone know why Telluride has Different bottom sides and Missing ends on their UNI-M terminals?

I don't think that's the same type of terminal, maybe it's an earlier version of it? I think Whistler has a few of these too

There are actually other Doppelmayr HSQs that have the same top drive design for both the top and bottom stations. For example, Garbanzo and Fitzsimmons at Whistler have that design. But I don't know about the bottom station desgin, but I think it looks kind of cool.

I think my favourite design was the design that the Excalibur @ Blackhomb has, again it's a varietion of the UNI-M. Both the terminals at telluride were installed in 1999 as well as the ones at whistler so maybe this was a transition lift? Could it possibly have UNI-G parts as during 1999 several regular UNI-Ms were installed. And the following year the UNI-G was produced as well as the UNI-M

I dunno, but I think Telluride was the only ski area to have this type of terminal. Also, don't forget that the HSQs that Telluride installed in 2001 also have this same terminal design too.
