I was looking on Coloradoskihistory.com today and i came across a old trail map for Silver Creek.

I'm wondering why they removed the lift on the far left of the map?
And what type it was?

i am not exactly sure why the lift was removed?

the lift was a Heron-Poma double chair from stagecoach, co and the removed chair now resides at winter park as the timberline double

I thought timberline came direct from stagecoach?

Also when was the lift taken out?

It still runs the same lift line. Don't look at what the trails look like since they are just an artists rendering of what the mountain looks like. Even though the older trail map looks like there are only two runs that go to that heron-poma double, while the new one has a lot more runs that fork off, if you look at the base of where the two lifts are located, you can see where the lifts both started from the same spot. Look at the condos and the curve in the road and if you look at the new trail map, you can see that the liftline is still on there.

Cameron even by drawing a line on up to the top from the fgq it does not really match up. PLus on the Summit Glade run there is a area near the top of the run that looks like it was wide enough for a double chairlift line coming up the side of the moutain which is now out of bounds. If i think about it i will snap a couple of pics of this area that i'm talking about.

I'm still working on figuring out where that lift was on the mountain. The people that i chated with today was not really sure. I'm 98% sure that it did NOT run the Kicking Horse Line.

i still think it started from the same area from where the base of the lift is located.

ok. I got my book in that ordered. I ordered the White Book of Ski areas from 1986-87. It does not have a a map of Silver Creek but shows that they had 2 doubles and 2 triples.

I will do some more digging

The maps are from pretty different angles, everything else on the east mountain is more squeezed together on the second map than on the first, it could be on the same line

well the lift on the far left of the first map i'm starting to think that's Planned. But people are saying that there was not a lift where the kicking horse runs now. I will be doing some digging real soon.

When it was removed from Silver Creek (Sol Vista) and relocated to WP wasnt the drive station replaced by one from Sugarite?

Could be... I was under the impression the current drive terminal was fabricated in-house by WP. The current top terminal is the original drive frame with the running gear taken out.
