Pictures of an actual derail from Red... second day of operations! Caused by a freak wind storm. It was the downhill side. If there was no catcher, this would have been way more work! :)

So that's why they don't opperate lifts in high winds!

Allan - is this tower 13 L/S again? Looks alot like the photo you posted back on 12/11/04.....

so the lift was open to the public and the wind picked up and derailed the lift?

Yep! It was on the downhill side of the lift.
