On Sky Express at Heavenly, one of the chairs suddenly stopped at the endpoint of the bottom terminal as the lift continued to run (such that the chair was completely perpendicular to how it would be oriented on the lift line). I began to wonder if there was a problem, as I had never seen this occurence before and the next chair in the terminal edged very close to the stopped chair. Right as the moving chair looked as though it would hit, the stopped chair began moving once again. The second chair then took the original's place and stopped. I saw this pattern one more time before I boarded a chair. The lift was running at a very slow speed.

What was the purpose of these stops?

By the way, I cannot conceive how the new Canyon Express could be anything but a Spacejet; it was quite long.

This was probably the PLC making up for a spacing issue that it detected - it can stop/slow a chair with a certain set of wheels.

True enough there could be a flat tire - but then they would all do that.

The next time I went to the lift, it was running at full speed and everything was normal again.

Canyon is complete. I think it looks quite nice. It is a really dark green color. It looks similar to another lift I have seen on this forum, but I don't know what it is called. I think the lift with the similar color scheme was a poma.

I can't get pictures because my digital camera is both too heavy and fragile.

I think that Canyon will run once lines get long enough on sky(very, very soon: they were putting four to a chair when I was there). Also, it will definitely run when the terrain park is up and running.
