Only reason I say I wouldnt be surprised is based on other rumors I have heard. I hate to spread rumors though, so I just said I wouldn't be surprised...

Well I was at Snowbird this weekend and took pictures of Wilbure and Gad 2. They look quite odd with all the chairs off in the winter. If you want to see the pics I'm just going to put them all in a new Ski Lifts Images topic.

On Peruvian they took all the chairs off and checked the grips appartently and then reinstalled the chairs. I rode on Peruvian this weekend and they seemed to be running it normally. On Mid Gad they took off one chair at a time as there isn't space in that area. Little Cloud due to being newer did not neeed to be inspected and continued running the entire time. All the chairs are off of the Gad 2 and Wilbur lifts and all grips removed from the chairs.

Is the tram free to ride, because I don't know how you would be able to access the backside with Gad 2 down?

Gad 2 accesses a separate high point on the west side of the resort. Access to the backside (Mineral Basin) is via the tram or Gadzoom to Little Cloud, or via Alta if you have a dual pass. That being the case, a signifant portion of Snowbird's terrain has been rendered inaccessible until the Gad 2 work is finished.
