Im going to cast two votes on this one, the worst one is chair #2 at Loveland. Besides it being slow, it stops about every 30 seconds, which makes for a very cold ride when it gets above timberline!

The second one is chair #5 at Vail. Sometime, after a run on the trail forever, it is a welcome ride though. On powder days, the slow nature of the lift means huge lift lines though...

Regarding the Zephyr at Winter Park, my main critique about it being slow is how inefficiently it is used. Why all the downloading during skiing hours? I don't think I have ridden that lift without it stopping at least 3-5 times and that does not even count the many slow-downs. I don't know if load gates are the answer or just figuring out a way to keep beginner skiers or whoever is having difficulty loading it off the lift and divert them to Arrow or Gemini. Who knows??
Oh well, my wife just suggested another vote for slow lifts being the Sheer Bliss at Snowmass.

How about the old Olympia lift at Winter Park. That one always seemed slllooowww. Maybe it was just long.

Are they ever going to change the 90 degree loading on the Excelerator? Not that I mind it too much, but it is kinda goofy for sure.

How about Gents Ridge at Aspen Mtn? any chance going high speed anytime soon? The terrian off that lift is very nice but the lift ride is excruciatingly long. On top of that, it has those dysfunctional Poma footrests from 1985 (three pronged, not enough length between the "safety bar" and where riders' feet go)

I doubt it as it is used due to the location of the terminal. To change it to traditional loading would require a lot of fill dirt, and since the bottom terminal sits in a wetland it would be difficult to do. We've also discussed changing the Flyer to 90-degree loading to eliminate the mess by the LPR, but for now it will remain as it has been.

I also think that the Gents ridge lift is long and should be replaced but I don't think that they are going to replace it soon. they showed that they had no problem with it when they replaced the ajax express with the same type of lift. But more understandable is the fact that since aspen is planning to install many lifts at snowmass as well as retrofit the gondola, they probably won't have enough money to replace gent's ridge.

Another good lift improvement for Ajax would be a HSQ from the bottom of Little Nell to the top of Bell Mountain replacing both of those chairs (Bell Mtn in particular is a very long chair but fortunately does not stop or slow very often). I was very surprised to see Ajax Express get replaced a couple of years ago. It always seemed like it was in good condition and didn't seem as if it had that many problems. The improvements at Snowmass probably will take a chunk of $$ though. Oh well, there is always Highlands with similar terrain and a lot faster lifts. That area has come a long way even though I really wish the Grand Prix poma was still there or the Cloud 9 HSQ loaded where the Grand Prix poma formerly loaded.

aspen is layed out terrible right now and that is all there is to say in my opinion. if you don't want to ride gents ridge then you have to take the gondola unless bell mountain is open. what they should have done is extende the fis lift down to where copper and spar gulch come together instead of just replacing it the way it was.
