I was wondering about that since I remember seeing a picture of the Jersey Cream lift in that color in a Doppelmayr ad in SAM Magazine of either 89 or 90.

Was the lift painted the next season Rob?

I'm not sure when it was repainted as it was before I worked here. I thought before it was installed but I guess after if you saw a photo.

Was the excalibur terminal a custom job? It's one of my favourite doppelmayr terminals.

Kind of. They wanted something low profile in the village. Very little headroom in the drives for moving stuff, and the diesels.

Just found a good site for the history of Whistler-Blackcomb, with lots of pictures.

History of the T-bars

The Parallel T bars take skiers up the glacier on Whistler Mountain.

Franz Wilhelmsen's team struggled to have this lift installed in the 1960's but they did a great job because this lift is still used on Whistler Mountain today!

A cool picture from 1971.

In this picture: http://www.virtualmuseum.ca/pm.php?id=reco...000103&rd=41622

There seems to be another lift (not the Gondola) which runs from Creekside, it is definitely NOT olive chair but if anyone knows what that lift is, i would be glad to know.

There used to be a T-bar there way back when. You can still kind of see the cut in the trees for it.

Great site- some pictures of lifts I rode in '89 that are no longer there, some cool history shots, and more. I see there was a pretty tight community up there back in the day, like most areas then. No corporations like today.

Actually, it wasn't about that, rather I was thinking that you were him or he might have posted those pictures somewhere else since he hasn't been on the forum for a while.
