Anyone else getting bombarded by a chat bot on AIM? I have been chatted once a day for the past three days, and I would like to know how to stop them if anyone knows.

...besides just ignoring the conversation, but to keep them from requesting a chat too.

Haha, yea I just got one about 15 minutes ago and the bot was gay I guess because it asked me 3 times if I wanted to talk about sex and stuff and I thought that was pretty nasty. But I knew it was a bot so who ever sent it to me I cussed them out a lot in that 10 minute converstation.

There is actually a program called AliceBot that can be installed and do that WITH THE FORUM. And no, its not going to be installed on this forum. Anyhow, anyone know how to stop them from requesting chat?

Just block the damn bot and if it's a different bot, block it again.

Yea I saw that forum bot that does posts and stuff on another forum and it was posting Google advertisements. Kind of pointless I thought because it was a waste of a post.

I was looking for something easier than blocking each that came my way. Kind of like that Do-Not-Call List, but make it a Do-Not-Bot list. :)

What we're talking about here is a bot that someone can easily insert your AIM screen name and a bot would start to talk to you. However, if you don't talk to it, it continues to say stuff, so that's why it's annoying.

Bots are something that are automatic and computer controlled. For this instance, someone entered my screen name and this bot took over, example:

[testbot16] hey...
[bill] who is this?
[testbot16] i need an eye appointment.
[bill] huh?
[testbot16] did you see the sun today?
[bill] ho its raining.
[testbot16] do you like rain?
[bill] duh, I live in Washington, I must.
[testbot16] you want to talk about sex?
[bill] not with you.
[testbot16] dont you want to talk to me?
[testbot16] You have been talking to a COMPUTER and your friends are laughing while they read this. To send a bot to your friends, visit..

[bill] being me and [testbot16] being the robot program.

One of these guys just talked to me yesterday
It was Funkzter665 or something like that. Started out by saying something like 'My friend wants to know if you were single.' Then i kept asking who it was, and it wouldnt tell me, and being the idiot that I can be, i kept asking. Anyway, it ended by saying that you've been tricked by one of your friends, who is laughing their head off right now, sponsored by www.chattingaimbots.com
