I got to test out the product yesterday- kind of a 'reward day' for lift and slope maintenance guys after busting our butts to get the hill open for race camp. SWEET! Best early season snow I've skiied yet, I think. The top several inches are all natural on a manmade base, sure, but it's still October so I can't complain..

What is going on. Another storm rolling into Mammoth. This one could be as big as the last!

About a foot or snow by tommarow morning and today it hailed at my house and there was some lightning, only about 2000 feet away. Pretty crazy figuring it happens only every few years.

Yup- I'm now doing make-work projects until the Flyer opens, as well as helping train new lift operators.

I have no idea. I'll probably be the last to know, as I have a five-day weekend ahead of me to switch over to winter schedule. For all I know, when I get back it'll be up and running...

Today Marks the First Publishing of the section called Snowsport in the Edmonton Journal. Today's issue basically outlined the new stuff at Several rockymountain Resorts including some in BC.

Lakelouise had their Rep give some comments and It looks as if their new gondola will be up around january. The Eagle chair is still on the hill but it has yet to be decided what will become of it. A word of caution is that lines at the base are expected to be big until the gondola opens.

I just noticed today driving by but Sow Valley has been up and running in Edmonton since Nov 5 on almost 100% Man Made Snow. It would Have been one of the first resorts to open in Canada!

Odly enough Powderbowl Express at Heavenly looks just like a uni-g or it is a uni-g or they changed the uni-gs to look like the uni-g. It is identical to canyon (2003). The only difference on the new 6-pack are the carriers with CTEC backings it seems because the dont arch back like Tamarck (1997)

Looks pretty nice in that color
What do you mean with the CTEC backings? Like the uncomfortable backrests on the Willamette Pass HSS last year?

I dunno, I guess on most dopp quads the backrests arch back, but on these they are pretty much straight at a slight angle. CTEC's backrests are straight so I meant they are pretty similar
