So maybe I'm too excited about this, but our house is almost done (finally!) and we should be able to close on it by the middle of September :D You have to like the garish colours of the house next door- at least we can tell people we live next door to the purple house!

Hey John, glad to see that your house is finally being built and is almost finished.

P.S. Are you going to miss the Corn Gold color? :D

Big enough for us- 1200 initially, plus 600 upstairs that we can finish ourselves at a later date. I'm so used to living in 600-square-foot apartments and houses that this feels absolutely huge. The house doesn't look big from the street, but it's long, so there's more than you can see in the picture. It's 18' by 65' or so.

You imply that this has been a long time coming ("Finally!"). Did something delay the construction?

Yes- the constuction foreman quit; the paperwork with all the details of construction sat on his desk for about two months before someone though to see if he left any projects. Then the schedule was already full, so construction couldn't begin until the houses the crews were working on were finished. So yes- there were delays. But it's almost done.
