I found this out in the woods today at Tamarack. Hopefully that's just hydraulic fluid! I presume the cat wasn't able to finish the grooming job after this little accident.

Does anyone know what this device is? Maybe it keeps track of the amount of skiers that are riding the lift since each zone has it's own sensor grid. However, it's kind of annoying when lift maze it packed and you all have to sweeze into that thing in a short amount of time.

It's not all that bad, a lot resorts have a set of metal dividers, almost like railings, that will hold about three chairs of skiiers before the loading zone. It's so much easier for organization, and especially when the maze is packed, even if it might be a tight squeeze.

When I was at Sun Peaks, their lift maze on the Sundance Express was a very tight sweet and it made it hard to move up to the loading zone. However, the next day it was spaced better.

This little guy travels around the top of Slide Mountain (which is where Mt Rose the resort is located) while the communications people check the many different antenna's on the summit. I thought it was kind of funny seeing a tucker driving around.

I believe they are either RF pass scanners, or people counters.

How do you get sit-skiers onto that lift?
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

All the sit skis I see raise/lower - they would easily go through one of the side lanes - and those red sticks probably come out, or move easily.

ASC's been fiercely repainting at The Canyons. The Cabriolet got a new paint job at the top terminal this year, and they've renamed three lifts, repainting each of them

What lifts did they rename now Tyler, because the only one I see on their website that's different from last year is Sweet Pea? I think it's pretty weird that The Canyons' keeps on renaming its lifts too when a lot of people don't even care.

Looks like Sweet Pea (ski school), Sun Peak Express (snow canyon) , Short Cut (lookout) , and Sunrise (red hawk)

I believe all the other lifts were renamed last year to their new/current names except Sun Peak Express which was Sundial Express if I remember correctly. Next year it's probably going to change again because Sun Peak makes no darn sense since the lift is in a canyon. Hopefully it will change back to Snow Canyon since that so far has been the best name.

Sun Peaks Express is the former Snow Canyon lift. It's the name of a development near The Canyons, but not that close to the lift. I dont know why they did it. They just have to redo signs, which confuses people and costs money. The renaming was actually done last year, when Red Hawk/Sunrise was modified for the third time

On a related note, they cut the lift line for the new Dreamcatcher lift that is on the map but they didnt install it yet. More confusion between the Dreamcatcher and Dreamscape lifts. No runs have been cut yet, but I guess that will come this summer
