I found three pics of ski areas in a collection of old slides at my grandmothers. One is schwitzer, idaho another is the old creekside base in 1967 and another is Red Mtn. At schwitzer you can see a riblet chair and some other chair and at Whistler you can see the old trail map and the valley t-bar liftline. At red you can see the ski runs on red and maybe the old poma liftline??

Day Break lift at The Canyons. Notice the CTEC style towerheads without the catwalks bolted on top of the Yans. This lift is the former Quincy triple chair at DV, which was itself the former Wasatch lift at DV.

The new Super Gauge Express at Mary Jane. Standard Poma setup, with an interesting brace attached to tower 2. I'm guessing it is to strengthen the tower, since they reused all of the old tubes from the former quad.

From what I had heard at lest 4 towers are new. The unique brace on tower 2 is most likely due to its location in a bog. There is most likely a soil condition that wold allow the asymetrical load on the tower to overturn it if it was not held back by the support.

The one with the support is an old tower, right? Hard to tell
I like how the six pack drive terminal looks in the new style. Doesn't look disproportionately wide like the old one was

Yes it is. I thought that pic was a new tower. Hopefully i will get more pics later on this ski season.

You're right- but not in the photo you posted. All line towers save the last one (the old portal-style tower, for those who have ridden that lift) were reused. When you ride the lift, you can see where Poma added gussets underneath the crossarm mounting plate for added strength. They haven't been painted yet so it's obvious which towers were used again.

I think Craig Loop could probably give you the full details about what was removed and what was kept since he helped remove it to my knowledge.

Line service, in December? Yep it's true - here's a couple pics. I wish someone could have taken at least one with me in them, but I was doing this part of the project myself!!

#1 - a 4T2D assembly minus the 2D (which had worn bushings)
(you can see the 2er sitting on the tower head)
#2 - the finished product, with new bushings, bearings and liners!

I was at Brundage today and I noticed something strange on the Blue Bird HSQ. Chair 69 had pink numbers rather than the standard black that's seen on all the other carriers. What's up with that? :laugh:

Sorry for that bad picture, but it wsa kind of hard for my camera to focus on the carrier while moving. If you guys want a better picture, I'll get one tomorrow. I have a feeling Gard might want this for MRM for random pictures or something.

That's probably due to a lack of blue paint or the fact that it's chair 69 :devil:
