Double quad, I like.

The really nice thing about that lift is not only do you have a ton of capacity but it takes a bunch of people off the slopes cause you have at least a couple hundred people hanging in the air. That way they're on the lift, not in a line, and not on the what I would assume to be otherwise crowded slope.

Great picture!

On another note does anyone have any idea how many of these double lifts are around in North America today off hand? I was just thinking as a random estimate around a dozen or so but knowing me I'm probably way off.

This is a Städeli-Triple in Scoul, Switzerland. This tower design can be used for any number of lift lines but in practice this triple was the largest version Städeli ever built. Unfortunately this triple t-bar was replaced by a Leitner Bubble:

Example of a double line t-bar (Sedrun, Switzerland, has also been replaced by a Doppelmayr six pack):

Markus,
As always we appreciate your input and views from Europe.
Happy Holidays to you and your family. I talked to a colleague in Italy today and I understand skiing is quite good in the Sud Tirol.

You are talking to me? :) Then you mixed something up... my name is Daniel ;)
Thanks and Happy Holidays to you too :)I also heard a lot of good things about the Sud Tirol, but unfortunately I've never been there till now. In Italy I've only visited the summer/glacier ski resort Passo Stelvio (pictures here: http://www.seilbahnb...s.php?album=218) and Cervinia-Valtournenche, which is related to the swiss ski resort Zermatt (pictures here: http://www.seilbahnb...ndex.php?cat=73).
