i have close ties to managment to bellayre and i get to learn all about what goes on there. and when i say they were thinking of puting in an eight pack, i mean it was a person asking the dopp/ctec people,"what about an 8-pack as our lift, and the development consultent said no, they have unloading problems" and that was that. but i got a cool book and shirt from the dopplemayre people.

Funny that Doppelmayr told them no, it seems like they would just want you to put in the most expensive lift, but I guess that isn't the case.

I didn't think they offered HS8s in the US.
Maybe DoppCTEC makes the same profit on both 6s and 8s so it wouldnt much matter to them what kind they sell

i was suprised too, the ctec person said, they are hard to load/unload as well.plus, it would add alot more people to the trails.

Personaly i find 8 packs and 6 packs just plain ugly! the classic HS quad is the best looking.

6 packs aren't bad, but I agree that 8 packs look way too wide for their own good (look at the picture in post 34)

skieurope, if you could post some pictures that would be cool. BTW, and have pictures of when the lift was a hsq and after it was turned into a HSE, that would be cool too.

HS8's seem pointless, just go ahead and build a gondola if you want 8 people up

Well the 8-pack would probably actaully be better since you dont have to take of your skis/snowboard.

I think most people would rather have an HS8 for a not-too-long but crowded line instead of a gondola. Maybe a gondola would be better for longer rides

i didnt mean for that 8 pack since its so short, but any other one that is long, a gondola is alot more comfortable

Even though the average gondola holds 8 people which seems like a lot, the capacity of the lift isn't that great since the cabins are spaced a lot further apart. The max I have seen for an 8 person gondola was 2800 while eight packs can go up to 4000 p/h.

Would it be cheaper to have larger cabins or have more smaller ones?

That seems kind of weird that the resort replaced that lift with a new HSE after looking at the terrain that the lift serves. It just seems like there would be major slope conjestion on the runs that, that lift accesses.

It is the lift on the far left to the "Zuger Hochlicht"!

The ski area is a quite expensive one! They claim to have a high quality! on the replaced HSQ there were some queues! This year there haven't been any !
