I'm trying to identifythe manufacturer these lifts. I am led to beleive that they are all Borvig, but i'm not positive. can anyone add their thoughts?

1) Vernon Valley, NJ - Borvig towers and chairs (Replaced by cabriolet)

2) Vernon Valley, NJ -Borvig chairs (may be same as above)

3) Great Gorge, NJ - Both lifts have Borvig towers, but strange chairs (could be older Borvig design?)

4) Great Gorge, NJ - most likely same chair as above (bottom left) with borvig chairs

The third one down is definetly a Borvig. The hanging sheaves are a Borvig signature. Hard to tell on the last one

I thought so. but those chairs don't look like Borvig's - unless they're an earlier design

Gentlemen,

All the lifts at Vernon Valley and Great Gorge were Borvig Lifts. The lift in the Photo was known as the Blue Chair, it serviced the Alpine Slide and had a removeable depress crossarm at the mid-station for summer use. The drive terminal was replaced in 1986. The lift ran day and night, summer and winter. It was taken out in 1998 and replaced with the Doppelmayr Cabriolet when Intrawest took over. The lift was relocated to Greek Peak, NY. It still runs to this day!!!

The Yellow Chair was also removed and the drive terminal which was replaced in 1989 is now at Gatlinburg, TN on a Savio Lift.

The beginner Red chair is now at Royal Mountain, NY.

There are still two Borvig lifts in operation at Mountain Creek(The old Vernon Valley).

I thought that there was only one double left at Mountain Creek, the Sojourn Double. I don't remember the make from skiing there...Anyone else know.

As Hagen said, the sojurn double is Borvig. The other Borvig lift is the vernon triple. From 1965-1998, all 13 chairs at Vernon Valley-Great Gorge/Mountain Creek were Borvigs. In 1998, 11 chairs were replaced with 2 Dopp HSQs and a Dopp Cabriolet
