Spent a couple days earlier this month at Panorama Resort in BC. While my wife attended a conference, I climbed the hill and snapped some pix. Here is the loading terminal of the resort's 'Doppelcake' HSQ chair - originally called the 'Quadzilla' but now known as the 'Mile One'.

Of course, just to prove this is not a Yan, here is the manufacturer's plate.

Getting to the top I found a crew working on the lift, converting the egress area for summer use. I also discovered that although the mechanicals of the top drive terminal are similar, the 'Doppelcake' profile is covered. I'm not sure whether this was part of the original construction or done after the fact.

The following is the top terminal of the Toby Chair, a Doppelmayr double of a similar vintage to the Sunbird Triple. Unfortunately, I did not have have time to go grab a shot of the lower terminal.

I've been to Panorama twice durring the summer. As it was later the chairs were removed from the toby and sunbird lifts while the mile one chairs remain for summer use. From what i recall is that the Toby terminal is very similar to the upper terminal of sunbird. also the Village gondola take passengers from about the same level as the base of toby to the base of mile one.

THose lifts look to be VERY well maintained. Do you have any idea when the doppelcake was built?
