Here are some pictures of this crazy bird that tried to attack me while I was taking pictures of the lift. But I thought you guys might like to see it. It kept touching my head every time it flew over so I don't know if it was attacking me or just playing around.

Last one. Well I think there are more, but you just have to wait until the Soldier Mountain pictures are posted. This bird is in like every picture.

There's a bird that lives behind the bell at the bottom station of Red that does that. She seems to not like the ringing of the bell to start the lift! :)

It would probably get out of the way when they started the lift

Birds live damn near everywhere and have just enough sense not to be a safety problem. I've seen ravens and starlings who ride the haul rope of an operating lift and just jump over the sheaves when they reach towers.
Cameron- you must have met the unofficial guardian of that lift- any scars?

Sometimes they have problems with bird strikes at airports...on the Discovery channel show about the Boeing 777, they showed them testing the enormous engines by throwing dead birds in there

No scars luckly. It would just fly over and touch my head with its feet. It didn't even scratch me but it scared me sometimes because I thought it was done messing around with me and then out of nowhere it would touch me again.

Crazy birds! We have trained attack birds on the T-Bar apparently! I went to check the wiring to see what needs to be replaced and there were birds buzzing me at half the towers! There were no nests around, there are NO trees near the T-Bar. There was a nest on tower 2, so I didn't even climb that one. It was very strange :) I didn't get any pics, I was too busy sitting on the tower head trying to inspect the wiring, while trying to shoo them away at the same time!

On aircraft part of the testing is to literly through birds at the aircraft on takeoff. Anyway I didn't know there was a lift at Soldier Mountian Utah. I was there for the Olympic X-country skiing and don't remember any lift.
