Still no details as to what happened. The lift in question is a Riblet installed in 1988 and came from another resort. Someone may know more about that though. Maybe Peter.

Maintenance? who needs stinkin' maintenance, just run it till she pukes! then sell it to some other place to be put up again- maybe in a state that has no tramway board. No body cares, just try to get away with what you can- the days of management consisting of people who had built the lifts, cut the trees, shoveled and pushed the snow, are long gone. The mountain exists as a product to be offered for money- the love for nature has been replaced by a love of money. The "business people" run the show- and that is mainly all they really are good for- a show, no creed or code that might limit maximizing the profit. The old lift directors and mechanics are learning that to take a stand can mean that you are not a "Team Player" and could also result in not being on the "Team" at all.
It is really sad to see the direction that this is taking...

I'm interested in knowing what has taken place since the pre-season state inspection, and this random state inspection last week that has resulted in needing to shutter the lift.
This Riblet supposedly dates back to 1961 as the black lift at Bachelor so it's going to be one of if not the oldest running lift in Colorado, although no doubt with various upgrades.

While I do not know the specifics of this shutdown, I can give you an idea of the process.
Each area has a 'Designated Agent' who is responsible for communication with CPTSB. After the fall (pre operational) inspection the area is given a List of Deficiencies to be rectified before licensing. There is also a Form 25-06 (which you can find on the CPTSB Website) that covers additional items to be completed before operation (ramps, rope closures, brake testing, etc).
Prior to licensing the DA sends a letter or email to the CPTSB stating that all of the items have been rectified and a license is issued.
When the unannounced inspection takes place the Inspector has a copy of the previous deficiencies and the 25-06. If any of these items are found to not be complete the Area is in violation of CPSTB Rules and their License can/will be revoked until the items are rectified and the Board meets to decide disciplinary action required.
Hope this helps.

Indeed, indeed.
