Jean Vuarnet legendary sunglass designer leaves us on January 2, 2017
He gave us the iconic (perhaps more aptly named cool) sun glasses seen industry wide in the 1970’s.
Vaurnet is also credited with the early use of the “tuck” position and metal skis. A long time French champion he won the gold medal at the 1960 Olympics held in Squaw Valley.
The style caught-on with the skiing community in the 70’s and with the fashion industry in the 80’s…thus losing some of its coolness factor in this writer eyes.
