Something about "wires became crossed" (gotta love the media) ....

Some passengers who had just exited at the station reported a high amount of swinging, so one has to wonder if one of the towers had a cable jump issue (which, of course, is why you have cable catchers, and cable catcher detector sensors).

Had to have been a cold, lonely, night for those stuck in those cabins.

I've been on this lift and it is rather special. One of the 'towers' is actually suspended from wires strung between two peaks the gondola passes between as it goes over the glacier. I would suspect a bit of a fluke derailment?

Just the carrier and tractor cable that touched together due to strong sudden side wind ! all the more easy on very long range without support like this lift ;) They found a technical solution to avoid it to occur again in future ;)
