You can see the cube of the concrete foundation, and under that, a chunk of the rock underneath it ... unless that's concrete buffer poured to even out the rock surface.
To the right of that, you can see all the rebar that pulled out of the holes.

I don't need to look at picture. I have been to the site at least 15 times now.

Now you've got it. Pretty hard to match the shape of the ledge rock with a square form...

BTW Sunday River, Locke Mountain was constructed in 1984, not 1985. Fall Line dbl and North Peak Triple were 1985. Both gone, and yes the top of North Peak was also pinned.
This could end up being a good lesson. Costly, but good. A little maintenance can go a long way towards knowing what is coming your way next. The right amount is even better. Listen to your crew, they are good guys!!
I hope they are being allowed to test the rest of their pinned foundations.

Doppelmayr is also replacing the top return on the Locke Mountain Triple, so that was likely inspected and found to be structurally deficient. Either that or they're just doing it for insurance/publicity reasons.

Could be both for both of your reasons. Also a good excuse to redesign the unload, Locke has always been a tough unload. You either get sent fast towards the hard turn of Upper Punch or you need to make the hairpin turn coming down the ramp and onto the deck for T2. Wouldn't mind seeing that improved.
Not sure on the Spruce towers. Locke towers are not being replaced, so I don't think there is as much concern with the tower footings as the top return anchors. A bit more than half the towers from the old North Peak Triple were re-used for the NPX, and that was even with the increase to quad chairs (granted NPX was installed in 94 or 95, so the old footings were arguably almost 20 years younger at the time). I do know the 2 year old carpet loader will be kept and reused with the new Doppelmayr base terminal (and probably why it is staying a triple).

Locke's new terminal will be three feet lower to help with the unload issues. New ramp and all.
North Peak Express was built in '97, BTW

Will you need to blast out any of the rock ledge or will it fit within the current landscape confines?
