It can really be anything, Tram, gondola, chair, surface lift. It can be length or time taken to ride.

I'll throw a few out for me:
Longest gondola : Matterhorn express (20,000 feet long)
Longest single stage gondola : Aspen mountain gondola (12,000 feet long)
Longest chair : Sunshine express at Telluride (10,000 feet long)
Longest FG Chair (that I could think of when originally posting this) : Plunge at telluride (6,000 feet long)
Edited later to add on, Cripple triple at MT. Snow (Cripple triple was local's nickname for the slow old summit local triple) (7,350 feet long, but removed in 2011)
Longest funicular : Sunnega at Zermatt (5,000 feet)
Longest tram(s): Klein Matterhorn at Zermatt/JHMR Tram (Approximately tied at 12,000 feet long)
Longest surface lift : Zermatt Gandegg T-Bar, (9,715 feet long: It was fun...)

And somehow, all these are still operating excluding cripple and sunnega, replaced by Bubble six pack and another funicular running the same lines.

Cripple at MT Snow (Sorry I had to add labels for these two, didn't want to add confusion on which was a picture of which) :

Not gonna be impressive since I ski in the northeast :

I'm going by guesswork, so I don't know if what I have ridden is correct but here it is anyway :
Longest gondola : Loon mtn. Gondola, only I have ridden
Longest single stage gondola : Loon mtn. Gondola
Longest chair : Green Mountain Flyer at Jay Peak
Longest FG Chair (that I can think of ATM) : Tomcat Triple at Wildcat
Longest funicular : Nope
Longest tram(s): I'm pretty sure Jay Peak's tram is longer than Cannon's tram, so Jay peak
Longest surface lift : Didn't ride too many surface lifts, I'd have to say Exhibition at Waterville valley to be honest with you
Also it's usually only tinier / less wealthy areas with surface lifts as their main ones here, i.e Abenaki, NH

I just remembered riding the cripple triple back in 2010/11. It got bad when I realized it wasn't a mid-mountain lift and went all the way to the top, and it's the only time I've ever pondered jumping.

Since this thread ventures beyond North America to Europe and beyond, here is a list of the longest I've ridden.

Longest gondola. Skyrail at Cairns in Queensland, Australia. 7500 metres or 24,606 feet.
Longest chondola. Crackenback / Kosci Express at Thredbo, Australia. 1860 metres or 6102 ft
Longest chairlift. Horse Hill at Mt Buller. c. 1800 metres or 5906 ft
Longest T-bar. Tirol at Mt Buller 1620 metres or 5315 ft before it was shortened.
Longest cornered Poma lift. International at Falls Creek. 1219 metres, 4001 ft. (It used to run so fast it was hard not to get air around the corner)
Longest nutcracker tow. Heritage Express at Roundhill, New Zealand. 1473 metres, 4833 ft with a 626 metre rise, so very steep for a surface lift.

In North America you really missed out by not having many Poma lifts and nutcracker tows, both are surface lifts that travel at the speed of a detachable chair and are almost as much fun to ride as skiing back down is. Sadly most have been removed in Australia and NZ, but there are still a few left.

Smacpats there are just two midstations on the 7500 metre (24,606 feet) gondola installed by Leitner-Poma in 1995. It claims to have been the longest gondola in the world when it was built.

However it's a tourist gondola that travels over a small mountain range through sub-tropical rainforest at Cairns in the far north of Australia, an area with a climate like Florida's, so it never sees any snow.

Detachable chair: Slide Brook Express at Sugarbush (longest chairlift in North America, I think)
Fixed-grip chair: Madonna I at Smugglers Notch
