Big story out of Vermont yesterday. The CSE is alleging that the owners (Stenger and Quiros) have conducted a massive fraud scheme in the order of hundreds of millions with investors money.

Or just search for Jay Peak on Google.

What are your thoughts? This clearly helps to explain why the new Burke hotel has yet to open (the developer is done building but waiting for the final $4 million they are owed), and why the Bonaventure Six-Pack never happened.

Very unfortunate for the investors and the region. Hoping it doesn't affect the long term future of these mountains.

What are your thoughts? This clearly helps to explain why the new Burke hotel has yet to open (the developer is done building but waiting for the final $50 million they are owed), and why the Bonaventure Six-Pack never happened.

This link says that the amount of money in dispute by the builder of the Q Burke Hotel is either $5.4 million or $4.5 million, not $50 million.

A lot of money changed hands, some of it to places maybe the investors did not intend it to go to, but let's keep the allegations accurate

It really seems pretentious to add part of your name to your resort

In general, I'm happy when resorts see the investment they need to bring about modernization and needed updates, but when the CEO has the audacity to change the name of a resort in a nod to himself, I think it's fair to say the line has been crossed. Truth be told, I'm not surprised to hear of this news.
