Panorama's Mile 1 Express (original name was Quadzilla Express), it's a Doppelmayr detachable quad from 1988.

The main interesting feature of this lift (other than it being one of the first to feature a modern contour and PTO system) is the return (bottom) station, clearly designed to resemble a Yan terminal.

The drive terminal is basically a UNI minus any curves:

When I first saw the bottom I thought is this an original YAN and then I saw it was a Dopp. But why try to resemble a YAN anyways?

I guess that may be true because YAN was the only American company to make an express lift.

Do they have other lifts that are Yan, and they're trying to match?

Nope all the lifts at Panorama are Doppelmayr with the exception of the summit quad which is a CTEC branded as a Doppelmayr, built shortly after the 2 companies merged.

My theory is that Dopelmayr just copied the sleek, compact design because it was well, sleek and compact.

So Horizon, Toby, and Sunbird were/are all Doppies?

Horizon Double Chair- 1975
Toby Double Chair- 1979
Sunbird Tripple Chair- 1980
Mile 1 Express 1989?
1998 Pulse Gondola (Doppelmayr)

Champagne Express- 2004 (Replaces Horizon Double)
Summit Quad- 2004

Discovery Quad- 2014

Replacement for Sunbird Tripple?

Doppelmayr may have been taking a page out of Yan's book. Yan may have been the first to use tire contours rather than cadence chains. Even their oldest detachables such as J6 at June Mountain or Superstar Express at Killington appear to never have had cadence chains.

Structurally, the bottom terminal of Mile 1 appears to be the same as the UNI terminals that premiered the next year, just without any extra coverings.

Horizon was a Dopp, Toby and Sunbird still are and are going strong, there's also an old Doppelmayr platter lift still in service on the bunny hill, a new fixed grip quad was also installed on one of the beginner slopes last season, also Doppelmayr, I'm 90% certain the t-bar that the Mile 1 replaced was a Dopp too.

CTEC made them as well. Brighton and Beaver have some that were built before the Garaventa merger. They also built one at Solitude with VonRoll and the design used after the merger is almost identical to before.

CTEC never truly built their own detachables. They partnered with Von Roll for a frw, then Garaventa. I recall several that have only a CTEC logo on the rear mast, but they still run the Garaventa grips. Then, of course, they merged.

The 1992 and 1993 models only said CTEC on them, control boxes, chair number stickers, etc. Thinking of Northside at Deer Valley, the old King Con (control boxes live on at Motherlode, but new stickers), and Great Western at Brighton.
