Crossarm Failure, Timberline VA -Thunderstruck triple

Haven't seen this posted, so figured I'd start a thread on it ...

Thunderstruck had a cross-arm failure over the weekend (around 9am on 2/20), resulting in the cross-arm completely separating from the tower and falling to the ground.

2 people ended up in the hospital (non-critical injuries) of the 25 people ejected from chairs in the resulting slack bounce ... luckily for all involved heights were very low, as most fell < 30 feet onto relatively soft snow.

The pictures are harrowing to see, this was obviously a pretty major structural failure.

The tower looks rusty
Don't get rid of something before you know how much it is worth.

I also doubt it is a Borvig problem
Don't get rid of something before you know how much it is worth.
