One interesting thing I've noticed is that most if not all fixed grip lifts with load carpets are bottom drive. I wonder if that's just a coincidence, or if it is harder to install a carpet on a top drive lift.
Crystal had two loading carpets in the 90s. Both were on top-drive, analog-controlled lifts. The carpet speed was synced by a belt-driven cable tach identical to Poma's version. I'm not sure what the guy at Mountain Creek was told, but usually the type of drive is irrelevant.

Next up is Bucksaw (WSO Stadeli 1969-2015). Any interesting info? Many thanks in advance.

Next is West Mountain. Does anyone know why it has double double towers? It seems unlikely that Sugarloaf ever thought they would be the second chairlift, since it is certainly the least used chairlift on the mountain (less so in my experience than Bucksaw, despite what Sugarloaf said). My hypothesis is that Borvig had a surplus of double double towers at the beginning of the quad age and gave Sugarloaf a deal if they used the towers. Any other ideas?

After this, I will be working on Timberline (Borvig 1988, relocated 1997) so any interesting facts about that lift would also be appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for any help!

also isn't it the longest lift on the mountain and a fixed lift couldn't that make it less used

*EDIT : Nevermind this post ; after doing some research I can conclude that it's not a 1.0
Here are a couple of images anyway...
Rocket
Zephyr
Its a 2.0 like the Carpenter at Deer Valley

Was...
The Borvig drive terminal was replaced this summer with a new Doppelmayr terminal. All the rest (line gear, chairs, and return terminal) are all still Borvig.

Couldn't they have just repaired the drive because Borvig lifts have the most beautiful bullwheels of them all. Also does anyone notice the extension on the drive bullwheel, it doesn't appear to be on any lift except for Timberline

There is plenty of good information in these forums as to why the new Doppelmayr terminal was put on last summer. Please read older topics about Sugarloaf.
