Poma's service department rocks. It's too bad we know them so well- that just means they're at our shop a great deal.
Sixpacks aren't a pain if they're engineered properly. For example- the grips on the Bee are great. No problems there, nor with the line. I guess the newer sixes have a slighlty beefier terminal design, too. I don't know anything about the Doppelmayr sixpacks, though I imagine they run as painlessly as the quads.

So if I'm understanding this, you now have to get off the tram and ski down to where Blueberry and Inferno used to be in order to get to the Peak? That doesn't sound all that bad, but it was convenient to get right onto the Peak chair from the tram. I seem to remember that it was a Doppelmayr, correct?

Here is Grouse Mountain's new trail map. As you can see, they did ineed remove three chairlifts.

Anyone on the site from Grouse? I had heard that there was some concern from the Ministry regarding the "gimballed" sheave assemblies (like the old Leitner/Borvig) and the Ministry was trying to make them be replaced.
Any info? Have the lifts been removed or are they just not operating to the public?

There are other topics about these three lifts. What I have got out of them is that the inferno and peak chairs were found to be unsafe and they were condemned. It was originally thought that this because of bad maintainence but it is more likely that it occured because of bad engineering. The towers to the peak chair are still visible. the top station has been totally removed but that is it. The towers are used light posts so that is why they are still there. I have also read that some of the inferno towers are still there but most of that lift is gone. The blueberry chair was not condemned like the other two and like what was said earlier, it still can be used as a backup. it is still intact but no carriers have been seen on the line since the olympic express was put in. also, it is not listed on the map so that is anther reason to believe that it is not going to get used again. there have been rumors of there being a replacement for blueberry in the works but so far nothing has happened.
By the way, the two habeggers are the ones with the hanging sheave assemblies and can still be seen just not ridden as of yet.

Ya, i highly doubt they would run it. Probably would be faster to take ppl on snowcats, snowmobiles ect ect.
I hope they decide not to replace it cause theres a ton of conjestion on there already and if they had 2 hsqs it would be hellish at times.
Now having ridden it i sorta like it cause its way way faster and u get way more runs in but. if its really busy its awful doing the blues (only two Blue runs from the top and ones fairly narrow, the other with moguls.
Another bad thing is recently they have had hardly any snow at the bottom while theres enough at the top, this would be fixed if the Peak Chair was still there.
The ideal solution would have been two FGs one, a FG4 same liftline as current and other FG2-3 same liftline as Blueberry or just use blueberry as it is.
