Interestingly, watching the Peak 8 cams has shown that part of the Colorado SuperChair's carpet has to be removed (the gate mechanism) in order to add or remove chairs.

I've seen that too on some lifts up here (Not Poma's though) Chondola (Sunday River) and Quadzilla (Waterville Valley) Both have to tuck away load gates in order to place/remove carriers.
The wierd thing is Quadzilla does not even use it's load gates... :tongue2:

The one season I had load gates I had the same problem. I had to flatten tires to pull chairs backwards on the same rail I removed them from. Kinda sucked.

Just to show the Canadian flag a bit on this site, the following ski lifts have loading carpets in Ontario:

Snow Valley (Barrie Ont) Leitner Poma Fixed Grip Six " Wideload" built 1997 (loading carpet since day one!)

Mount St. Louis Moonstone (Moonstone Ont), Leitner Poma Fixed Grip Quad, "Sundance", built 2010

Devil's Glen Country Club (Glen Huron Ont), Leitner Poma Fixed Grip Quad, "Hades", built 2012

and probably a few more around Canada, those close by can fill in.

forgot one: (Also in Ontario)

A Leitner Poma built Alpha fixed grip quad at Brimacombe: also has a loading carpet
(installed when chair built 2012)

With the Colorado SuperChair open now, has anyone had a chance to go up there and experience the carpet?

It looks like it's the same brand of carpet as the Mountaintop Express. I do wonder if the number of mis-loads could be reduced by the fact that the lift has in-line loading instead of 90 degree loading.

The new Centennial Combo Chair at Beaver Creek is also going to have loading gates & carpet.

The new Centennial Chondola at Beaver Creek has loading carpets for the six pack part of the lift, meaning that all of Vail Resorts' new Colorado lifts excluding Kensho and Zendo at Breck have loading carpets (Mountaintop, Colorado, Centennial) and I expect there to be more on new VR lifts in the future too.

In other words, any future high speed quads or six packs at VR resorts in Colorado should be expected to have loading carpets. Admittedly, some of the existing lifts could use carpets, like the loading areas on Quicksilver Super6.

I wouldn't say that's a given. High-traffic lifts perhaps, but probably not an expert-only one.

The Lodgepole Quad at Diamond Peak in Nevada has a loading carpet. Or at least it did the last time I was there a few years back.

Since it was announced today, I'm going to bank that when it gets upgraded to a high speed six pack next year, the Avanti Express lift is going to have a carpet.
