Job Title: Safety and Risk Manager
Job Status: FT year round
Start Date: ASAP
Scope of Duties: This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact leading initiative to enhance employee safety and risk programs in a ski resort environment.
This position will have general responsibility for guest and employee safety and risk management at Copper Mountain. Reporting to the President/COO, the Manager of Safety and Risk coordinates their efforts with directors, managers and supervisors across the organization. Specific management of guest liability, auto and property claims. General management and oversight of workplace safety and related program and claims as well as oversees the Safety Committee.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have deep knowledge of safety and solid experience developing, implementing, and managing safety and risk programs. You also will need experience working in the ski industry, risk management, health care or insurance industry Monitor all current safety related and OSHA laws and regulations.
We're looking for a professional with a collegial and collaborative approach and the flexibility to resolve safety issue creatively in diverse environments. You'll not only to be able to develop programs and initiatives, but also to influence and motivate others to embrace those programs and initiatives.
Must have strong relationship skills and have the ability to drive projects to completion. Must be ableto manage a number of priorities simultaneously, establish and meet deadlines Undergraduate degree extremely helpful. Associate degree or certification in Risk Management or Business Administration preferred.
Candidate must possess:
  • Friendly, helpful attitude
  • Strong communication skills with senior management and all levels of employees
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced First Aid or EMT helpful
  • Thorough working knowledge of various computer programs such as Windows (Word, Excel)
  • Should be able to ski or snowboard on all terrain in competent fashion. Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 100 pounds of force as frequently as needed
  • Must have strong relationship skills and have the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills
