Is the lift installation survey going to be added for years before 1988 or is it only going to be expanded by future years? I really like it so i hope it will be expanded to older years

Yes, I will continue to add more lift construction surveys prior to 1988. However, there won't be any more added until I backorder more SAMs from that era, which I hope will be soon. So far I have all the SAMs from 1991 to present issue and my school also has some that go back to 1989, so that's why the list stops at 1988.

It'd be nice to see when some of the old fixed grips were made, and the oldest HSQ.

Only trouble with them is you have to figure out what lift was actually installed. I think it just says the resort, maker and all the info, you just have to figure out the lift and it may get tricky with the old lifts.

Especially because many of the older lifts have been replaced by newer lifts, so you have to go all the way back, and possibly contact the resort.

Luckly, I have the entire installation sheet of Poma of America since it was founded so that saves some work right there since names of the lifts are provided. However, there are a few blanks and some lifts go either by a number or letter, rather than the lifts real name.

Well I just backordered some more SAMs tonight from the years 1982, 1986, 1987 & 1988. I thought I would skip the years 1989 and 1990 for right now, but I will backorder those issues the next time I order more.

I guess what I'm saying is that there will be some new lift installation surveys online in the near future. Also, in the Junuary issue of 1982, there is an article about the Quicksivler lift at Breck. Finally, some info and terminology behind that lift. :)

The SAMs arrived today and I was wondering what lift installation survey you would like me to post first.

Your options are 1981, 1985, 1986 or 1987.

I just finished the 1987 Lift Construction Survey page.

If you know the name of any of the lifts that arn't listed on there, please feel free to PM me or something. I haven't had the time to find all the lift names yet.

Looks good the only thing that caught my eye and whether or not his is intentional or not instead of New Jersey, its North Jersey, The resort is in north jersey but that isn't really a state. Oh one more thing, Do you have any articles about the QMC, didn't it go in the same year as J6?

Thanks Grant, I just relocated the North Carolina table cell and forgot to change 'north' with 'new'.

I'm not sure because there was one issue from that year and it migth have been in there. However, there is a brief metion of it in the March issue, but it's not worth uploading unless you really want it. I will do some more searching for it because there have been issues where there is just too much lift talk rather than other stuff, so they spread it out. So it very well might be in another one of the other 3 issues that I have.

Possibly, but it just depends on how much spare time I have because these take some time to write up. Well actually, what takes time is finding the lift names because some have already been removed and a lot of small lifts all look the same on the trail map. I might just have to start e-mailing the resort. The problem with that is some sign you up for their stupid mailing list.

I just got the 1981 lift construction survey up.

http://skilifts.org/install_na1981.htm

I've been e-mailing the resorts to find out the names of the lifts that I don't know, so these pages will have minor changes in the next few days.
