WB are going to see if rebuilding the Horstman glacier makes sense.

You don't think that the fact they have been disrupting the snow surface, building all those features, and exposing a much larger surface area to the sun and wind for the last 24 years has had anything to do with it, do you? Climate Change or Surface Exposure Change?
Have the rest of the Glaciers in the vicinity lost the same amount of area?
I remember when I was there in the early 80's there were Glaciers all over the place.

I don't doubt we have had an effect, but glacier recession is very common here. All local glaciers have has significant loss, except very northerly oriented ones in certain locations.

I have not 'studied' the retreat of Horstman Glacier, but as a hiker in the coast mountains for the past 30 years I have seen huge retreat. This can be best seen when climbing in Garibaldi Park just across the valley from Whistler. I have hiked on glaciers there that are now gone. Topo maps from the 60s show many glaciers that I never even saw. I would guess the ski operations did help reduce the glacier, but are only one cause.
