Very sad to hear this. Jan visited my office not too long ago.

I think that Jan brought almost as many great lift guys together as Janek did. I had worked for and with Jan, as an employee, customer and contractor for almost 25 years. I wish I had worked with him more. He was always my favorite lift engineer and a great friend as well.. It breaks my heart to know that he won't be answering my panicked, late night phone calls any more. Rest in peace, Jan.

Today in memory of one great guy I wore this shirt. And of course I was working on a CTEC Lift. Many of you industry people have heard and most of you non industry types haven't nor wont but yes, Jan Leonard has really left the building. Taken the old jigback tram to the sky. What a wonderful guy he was!!! I worked for him for 12 years and never before or ever again will I see the President of a company truly in the trenches like I saw him on so many occaisions. The stories I could tell. Not right now though. I am getting over this loss as are many others and we at APE wish his family and close friends all the best at this tough time. Thank you Mr Leonard. Have a glass of wine with Mike Carhart and a Rolling Rock with Dale Walters and know we all are going to really miss you. Hold down the fort up there and see you on the flipside.

I didn't know him personally, but I do know just how huge of an impact he has had on the industry. My thoughts and prayers to all of you who knew him personally and had the honor of calling him a friend, and to his family. God speed, Jan.

I only got to meet Mr. Leonard a few times at the Midwest Shows and at a Utah training seminar, my deepest condolences to his family, friends and co-workers. While he and others were building big bomber lifts around the nation, Jan also saw the need to build cost effective options for smaller areas like ours. His legend lives on locally with the 5 Ctecs we operate and 10 others that are close by. As our industry ages faster than its replaced, we will continue to lose the 'good ones', all I can say is, I'm proud to keep your work moving uphill and for us 'rookies', learn what you can from all the veterans before its to late. Rest in Peace.

Thanks for the info, Bud. If you folks hear about this and what and where it will be, please let me know. I'm saving up so that I can come out and pay my respects.

He made some great lifts and seemed like an all around good guy
