Listening to CBC Calgary this morning and they had an interview with the COO of SSV. Key points below;

- Closed and evacuated due to combination of fire threat and to give Banff Parks crews freedom to fight fire in moving in from BC's Mt. Assinaborne Park
- Fire is 2 Km from ski area
- Fire at Simpson Pass
- Fire "testing fire break built by Parks Canada"
- Due to high alpine and little fuel (dry wood) in that area minimal immediate threat to SSV facilities
- Major concern is jumping fire break and moving down Heally Creak Valley into Banff Park
- This Leads to SSV base facilities below tree line (but that would take some time to move that far)
- From there it could then enter Bow Valley
- Unspoken but seems from there concern it could go back up the next valley where SSV has Gondola in (Heally Creak and SSV's Gondola Valley meet at SSV base area parking lot)

My take on it is 99% chance SSV will be fine.
