Breakover Towers

Backbowlsbilly's Photo Backbowlsbilly 31 Jan 2015

Some of the best images of ski lifts are the breakover towers near the top station of lifts, typically detachables but not always. Some of the ones that come to mind for me are...

Siberia at Squaw. (http://www.remontees...tage-3981.html0

Imperial at Breck (http://www.remontees...rtage-1075.html)

And the Marte Double at Las Lenas, Argentina. (http://www.remontees...rtage-1302.html)

Any others?

Donald the OT was breakovers, not hold downs. Let's stay on topic please.

There is something special with the 5+ tower riblet breakovers. They just look fantastic.

That's quite the breakover assembly!
Do riblet towers only hold 4 sheaves max?

Loon's Gondola. Half the cabins are in storage for the summer, while the other half are on the line for scenic lift rides.

I agree on those Riblets, certainly make for a cool photo, that reminded me of this Riblet double at Silver Mountain.

Doesn't necessary have to be at the top either to look cool, Red Pine Gondola at Canyons has an impressive set of 5 towers right before it crosses the canyon. (http://youtu.be/Dg1HK5eSff0?t=4m57s)

Older models, yes. They added 8-rockers sometime in the '80s.

Chair 5 at Breck has a tower (10b) with 8 sheaves.

Yes I remember now, all 3 of Crotched's riblets. (2 still stand) had some assemblies of 8, and sometimes they were compression assemblies so they were 8+.
Anyhow, i'm getting off topic, so to contibute to the topic again, I will nominate the Cannon Montain Tram II. (One of my favorite lifts to ride)

I would also add that looking at the Cannon Tram II's towers from different angles is pretty cool:
