JOB SUMMARY



Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician ensures that preventative electrical maintenance for lifts and other resort facilities is scheduled and completed within reasonable timelines, and as required by federal/provincial guidelines. The incumbent will diagnose and repair all electrical malfunctions and ensure that subsequent maintenance activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The incumbent works closely with the Lift Operations Department and therefore must have knowledge of lift operations and related regulatory compliance. The Electrician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor to set up initial and ongoing processes for maintenance and inventory of all related equipment, tools and parts. This position will play a key role in establishing electrical apprenticeship programs.



SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



· Ensure familiarity with the operation of and procedures for all lifts as well as electrical functions in other resort facilities.

· Be familiar with and communicate federal/provincial regulatory compliance requirements to all electrical maintenance staff and management.

· Immediately report to management any operating condition that is outside of federal/provincial and company policy or code.

· Delegate and perform all needed maintenance activities for all electrical aspects of the resort, as required.

· Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical malfunctions.

· Ensure all equipment and areas are kept in neat, orderly, safe and efficient operation condition.

· Ensure cooperation with other company employees to expedite work.

· Maintain and track all equipment tools and parts.

· Maintain records of all maintenance activity.

· Assist with development of maintenance budget.

· Ensure staffing meets operational needs keeping within payroll budget.

· Conduct formal performance evaluations for electrical maintenance staff.

· Ensure that all related activities are conducted in a safe manner through sound judgment and knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.

· Report any unsafe conditions immediately.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



  • Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Electrician – BC Trades Certification or Interprovincial Red Seal Trades Certification
  • A minimum of 8 years related experience - electrical experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License (Driver’s abstract required.)


ABILITIES REQUIRED



· Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Must be able to work in potentially hazardous environment with exposure to variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
