Excellent - Both lifts accounted for and still in operation.
What do you do for spare parts?

We've been to Cowelco a few weeks ago talking to the owners about Cosmos. There is nothing left of any documents, contracts, etc. and they can hardly remember what happened back then. Some businessmen from Switzerland were visiting the company one day asking if they can do the steel work (towers, sheaves, etc.) for chair lifts. Their business was licensed under Cosmos, Long Beach, and not related to Cowelco. After Cowelco did the parts for the first two chair lifts, Cosmos was struggling to pay the bills and they stopped the cooperation.

They never did anything else than steel work so there must be another source for the reminaing lift parts...

I finally found out who was president of Cosmos Inc: Fred Schmutz. The company only existed for two years, 1962 and 1963. But there is something strange about it: Jeanette Schmutz was listed as Fred's widow as early as 1961.
