Well this came as a surprise, the towers and terminals for White Pass' 2 new quads (1 fixed and 1 detachable) for the Hogback Basin expansion have arrived and are being dragged up the mountain over snow. I believe these lifts aren't supposed to be finished for 2 summers, but they are wasting no time getting started. Doppelmayr CTEC is doing the installation I think.

Warning: Truck might be carrying very fortunate "Pomases!"

Never mind, it's just some parts for a Leitner Poma high speed quad.

Pictures of the new Roundhouse Gondola at Sun Valley. It seems Roundhouse Gondola is the name being used instead of River Run Gondola™. (It is a Vail Resorts trademark)

As are Summit Express and Ruby Express but that hasn't stopped other resorts from using those names.

It just replaces Exhibition, and keeps the old high speed quad (when looking at the cam). However, it will now be a little more inconvenient to try and get there directly if you're the type of person who prefers chairlifts over gondolas, since you now have to enter from the Lookout Express.

I'm not sure if it's happening next summer or the following, but Christmas Express at Sun Valley will be removed when the second stage of the Roundhouse Gondola is built.

Too bad about Christmas at Sun Valley being removed. Yan teardrop chairs are a rare sight now, and I'm not a fan of gondolas in areas that people might want to ski laps on

The removal of Christmas is in the master plan although in phase 3. Right now is the middle of phase 1. Sun Valley's ultimate plan is to replace both Christmas and Challenger with gondolas and build 6 new detachable quads (2 expansions and 2 replacements on Baldy and 2 replacements on Dollar). The replacements of Cold Springs and Mayday along with the Turkey Bowl Expansion lift are all ahead of the Christmas gondola in the current master plan phasing. It seems probable that SV will reuse both detachable quads or at least sell them to another resort.

Some pictures from White Pass. These look like they were taken at the top of the new fixed grip quad, not the new detachable. Still can't believe it's not opening this year!

Are you referring to the Treasure Hill development which will realign Town Lift w/a high speed quad and add a people mover of some sort from the existing Town Lift plaza to the base of the new lift? If so, the update is that the City Council hasn't formally approved the development plan and w/the current economy, I'm betting nothing will be built for at least a few more seasons...

I found a few pictures of the Timing Flats lift at Whistler Creekside. Looks like it runs right next to the Creekside Gondola. It's hard to tell but it looks like it might be a Uni-G, not a Uni-GS.
