I think partially thanks to how well https://www.remontees-mecaniques.net/ has set up their site becoming really as detailed of a resource for lift pictures and stats as you can have, and with liftblog adding a database side it's just become redundant and therefore less a priority. If someone wanted to take the project on more power to them and we'd certainly support a sklifts.org database 3.0, but in the meantime I think we've tried to find out niche more in the SORT, industry and hobby forums as more a trading space for information and dialogue. The thing I and other mods and other folks on the forum I think have been focusing on the most and to large success is continuing to foster skilifts.org as the place to go to ask questions, trade information and help others in the industry.

If anyone would like to try and do a 3.0, let me know and also let me know what your opinions are on the direction of the site.

I really hope you all continue to update your site. I love seeing and learning about the old lifts at the mountain(s) that I go to. If you all don't decide to update it, giving the technical data and images of the lifts in your database to https://www.remontees-mecaniques.net/ would be super great.

Thank you, I do remember someone offering us permission to use photos on Remontees-Mecaniques in the past, and it is great to have this fully clarified from an administrator. :smile2: This will be very nice to take advantage of for ski lifts that have already been removed. With the fragility of the web sometimes, it never hurts to have photos documented in two places.

Likewise, I have recently been adding a creative commons label to my photos for non-profit use (R-M username cwcwcw). This is not true for other members, but I'm sure most of them will happily grant permission to reuse photos. I'm hoping at some point historical societies will be interested in the photos for their archives, but I just haven't reached out yet.
