Check out the specs and the fine details of this house being built in the Deercrest Section of Deer Valley, including the "worlds only private gondola" :shocking:

The difference is that this gondola is for a HOUSE! Nuts, anyways, heavenly's is for a hotel so technically anyone can ride it.

I was thinking about that, and was figuring something in the 40 million range plus or minus a few million, but at that price, what's a few million either way

Jeez. Is that the SKI Magazine Dream Home? I wouldn't mind having my own private gondola. Can't think of where it's gonna be, but the gondola probably won't be visible from the 'public' parts of the mountain that other people go on

What gondola is that in the picture?

I don't think that this is the Ski Magazine Dream home, as that lot is located right at the top of the Jordanelle Gondola, so I wouldn't see the need for it's own Private Gondola there. BTW, looking over the Ski Mag press release about their house, it has a $15 million price tag for it's roughly 12,000 sq. ft. and NO mention of any Private Gondola.

Pictured is the Ridge Gondola at heavenly (it really is a dumb concept seeing as it has 1 cabin and its a shorter ride time on the bus to stagecoach) Plus, the gondola has you walk 100 yards while the bus drops you off right at the bottom of the lift

I was mtn biking down the Deer Crest bike trail just a few days ago and noticed a rollercoaster type track being assembled in front of a home that I'm fairly sure is this one. It was a straight section of track which has a slight incline and is probably a few hundred feet long. I actually thought someone might be putting in their own thrill ride of some sort! This home is located just above where the bike trail breaks off from the Navigator ski run if anyone else has a chance to take a look.

That's most likely an inclined elevator.

I saw the track today, it's not very steep, pretty useless if you ask me. I could skate to the top in about the time it would take to walk up the steps to the bottom terminal. If it were a really steep hill it might be useful but it just looks like a waste of money, as are most of the houses at deer valley.

I've never been close enough to see it, but it looks like there's a private Poma or other type of surface lift up to one of the developments above the Snow Park base, kinda high up between DV and Royal Street. It's easier to spot in the winter

That one went in a few years ago, It's a platter lift for a group of houses on bald eagle. the idea was that the home owners could traverse over to the bottom of it from success and using there personal key turn it on and ride it up to there house. I guess the tram board didn't like the unmanned lift idea, i've never seen it spinning.

There is a private hillside house at Vail with its own gondola. The gondola replaced a chairlift.

I have looked for that house in Vail but can not seem to find it. What part of Vail is it in?

There are also 6-8 private funiculars here in Ketchikan that access homes since most of the town is built up on hillsides that are often very steep, most I think are homebuilt. There is also a Von Roll funi for a hotel that sits up on the hillside over looking town.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

The house with the gondola is in the housing area on the hillside between the main base and Lionshead. Forest Road rings a bell. The "mushroom" house is also up there. Neat houses. Easier to access in the summer, than winter.
