Suffered some sort of mechanical failure yesterday. Evac took about 1.5 hours. Didn't make any of the news stations so the info out there is on social media/Facebook/Instagram/Twitter. Based on the info they provided it looks like the techs are searching for the parts needed. Shouldn't be terribly hard, 1995 CTEC FGQ

I am assuming a gearbox issue with the lift since a rope evacuation occurred. Looking at the pictures on our site the lift has a Kissling reducer vs a Cat D series hub so parts may be harder to get in that case.

How common is it to use the Kissling vs the hub? Any specific reason for going that route at the time of install?

Thanks

Kissling used to make a hub similar to the Cat final drive and I have seen them on many of the 90s GareventaCTEC detachables so its not entirely uncommon though Park City did have to replace a number of them with a combination of D11 finals drives with Sumitomo top ends due to the reducers being undersized for the loads and failing.

The boxes may have fit the torque speed requirements better than the Cat reducer, or KIssling gave a better price I cannot say not knowing any specifics.

Looks like the mechs worked long and hard and have been successful. Ray's Lift opening tomorrow. Good job, boys and girls!
